Big Canoe

We recently went to Big Canoe, GA to celebrate David's aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary. We saw a lot of family members that we haven't seen in a long time. Emme had a gret time but then again, she is always happy when she's outside.

David's birthday

I took David and Emme to the Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville, GA for his 31st birthday. We had a great time looking at the dinosaurs and the planetarium. There is more there than I expected. Below are some pictures from our trip.

A swingin' good time

Just a quick update on Emme's growth. She now weighs 7lbs 15oz and she has grown to 20 inches. She will be 6 weeks old Monday, May 4th.

David and I bought a swing for Emme not too long ago. She loves it! Here is video from her first experience with the swing.

1 Month Old!

Little Emme has made it one month! This first month has been full of changes and challenges for this first-time family. We go back to the pediatrician next week so I'll have an update on her height and weight then.

Emme grunts a lot! I guess that's her way of talking to us. Her neck is getting pretty strong and she tries to push up with her legs when we're holding her. She loves bath time! She has made two appearances to church and has done well both times. Last week she got a swing and absolutely loves to swing! It keeps her quiet for hours!

Hoppy Easter!

Today was Emme's first church service and she did really well until she got hungry half way through "big" church. She's like her mommy, when she's hungry... she's not happy. Our associate pastor came and got Emme and introduced her to the congregation during the service. It was such a special moment!

After church we headed off on the tour de Dalton with stops at both grandparent's. Lunch with my family and an Easter egg hunt with David's family. Next year Emme will be able to run around the yard with her cousins hunting for eggs. It was a wonderful Easter and we are so blessed!

Changing everyday

It's hard to believe that our little girl is almost two weeks old! She's changing everyday!!

Emerson Elizabeth Hardin

David and I officially became parents on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 8:02 p.m. when Emerson Elizabeth Hardin entered the world. She was born via c-section and David held my hand the whole time. The first time we heard her cry was breath-taking. Soon the doctors placed her on my chest and I could finally see the bundle of joy I had been carrying for 9 months. Soon David was off to the nursery with Emme to be bathed, weighed and measured. She weighs 5lbs, 11oz and is 19 inches long.

We were finally able to bring her home Thursday, March 26. It has been an incredible experience watching her change each day. We are so blessed that God gave us our little miracle and we thank Him each day for this gift. We also thank all of our family members and friends that wished us well and came to visit us at the hospital. Being a new parent is definitely restless but each day has presented us with memories that will last a lifetime.

Family of 2 Becoming Family of 3

This is our last weekend before we become a family of three! I've been on bed rest for the past week and it is not as glamorous as it may sound. As a social person, I miss the daily interaction with others. It's just been me, the dog and the tv everyday until David gets home. Our next appointment is Monday morning and then it's off to the hospital. The doctor has decided to go ahead and induce labor because of my high blood pressure. Please pray for us this coming week. I'm terrified of what's to come but I'm so excited to meet this little girl that's been a part of me for 9 months!

Another Baby Shower!

I had another great baby shower this weekend! Several of my mom's friends and David's mom's friends came together and gave us so many more great gifts. I know I've already said it but our little girl will be the best dressed girl around. She has received so many cute clothes. David and I are already jealous of her wardrobe!

Baby Shower

This post is way overdue! My coworkers held a baby shower for me and David February 12! It was so much fun. We received so many great gifts and played fun games. David and I are so thankful to be surrounded by so many kind people.

Baby Got Bump!

Several of you have asked to see a picture of my growing belly. You will have to settle for this picture of me and David from this weekend. There is no way I'm putting my stomach on the internet!!

Pretty in Pink

We are in our 8th month of pregnancy and everything is coming together. We have finished our childbirth classes and are prepared for anything. Yea right! We have no idea what to expect but that's the fun part.

I wanted to share some more pictures of the nursery and the pretty clothes we have received. Our little girl's favorite color will have to be pink!

We also want to say congratulations to Mary and Chad on the arrival of Mallory. We hope everyone is doing well and we cannot wait to see pictures!!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

We had a wonderfully busy Christmas day filled with smiling faces. First, David and I had our Christmas at home in the morning and then we were off to Dalton to have Christmas with my family. Later in the afternoon we headed to Signal Mountain to spend time with David's family. We got a lot of play time in with the kids and David got to practice giving a bottle to Davis.

David and I rang in the New Year at home with our sparkling grape juice. On New Year's day we had a traditional New Year's meal after a day of watching football.
